Our Company

Sustainability Edge Solutions was founded in 2007 with a mission to accelerate transformation of organizations towards global economic, environmental and social sustainability.  We provide sustainability consulting services to facilitate strategies and plans to proactively manage social and environmental impacts in a fiscally responsible way, making a positive difference to the bottom line. 

Our People

Drawing on a network of sustainability professionals, resources, tools and information, Sustainability Edge Solutions provides sustainability consulting and facilitation services to help organizations successfully navigate the path to corporate sustainability, reduce their carbon footprint and improve their bottom line.

Jabeen Quadir is a licensed Chemical Engineer with many years of experience in engineering and management positions with various organizations and industry sectors.  She has a diverse background in strategic planning, project management, quality management systems, standards development, technical service and sales, chemical plant process engineering as well as marketing and business development. 

Prior to founding Sustainability Edge Solutions, she was responsible for overseeing construction standards development programs at Canadian Standards Association, where she became involved in North American and international sustainable/green building standards and building rating systems.   She managed a team that facilitated consensus standards development programs for building products, materials and systems, sustainable buildings, and water, wastewater and storm water infrastructure.  

Ms Quadir is passionate about promoting the adoption of sustainability principles, practices, processes, technologies and products that encompass environmental, economic and sociocultural aspects, based on a foundation of sound life cycle considerations.  She is also a Senior Associate with the Athena Institute.

Bashar Mutlak is a Chemical Engineer with varied experience in business development, project management and process improvement roles in the construction, real estate investment, health care and manufacturing sectors.       

As Project Manager in the Construction Products Program at Canadian Standards Association, Mr. Mutlak was responsible for business development activities and development of standards in the areas of Sustainable Buildings and Water, Wastewater and Storm Water Systems. He played a key role in organizing and coordinating a Sustainable Buildings Workshop, engaging Canada’s top business leaders in developing a common vision for sustainable buildings in Canada.

Asif Quadir is Senior Legal Counsel at Scotiabank, one of the leading Canadian financial institutions with operations across Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.  Prior to joining Scotiabank, Asif was a Director at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce with their Global Sourcing division. Asif was also a Principal at Infosys, an Indian pure-play outsourcer, where he assisted in strategic planning, negotiations and post-deal integration and transition management. After receiving his MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, Asif joined Cap Gemini Ernst and Young’s management consulting practice.  

Mr. Quadir holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario.  He completed his LL.B from the University of Ottawa, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994.
